Our Story Video!!!

Hello all! Since we are having receptions in both Virginia and Kansas, and because not many people outside of Utah have seen us as a couple, we decided to hire a videographer to film "our story." And she did such a great job!
But, let me just go ahead and admit that I was a bit nervous to film this. I thought that I was going to mess up my words (I did) and get tongue tied (I did) and say something stupid (yep, I did). And because I was nervous, I totally sounded like a doofus. But Lilly did a fantastic job making me look better!
Here's how I messed up though- Pretty much since we've been together, we've agreed that we started dating on October 17th. But, I told the story of when we first went to dinner. I felt like such a dork.. Anyway, now that that little preface is out of the way, enjoy the video! Can't wait to see you all! THIRTY SEVEN DAYS!!!!!

No Turning Back

My sister is the greatest sister in the world.  Sorry to everyone else but she is magnificent.  For her precious spring break time, she decided to come out for a visit.  This was not the best part though, instead of coming out and relaxing all week she suggested hand making all of our invitations.  So her first day out here we went and bought everything, then spent the afternoon and evening cutting, glueing and counting.  We did the same thing the next day and then two more evenings of the week.  Way more work than I originally thought it was going to be however way worth it.

She left and we still were not quite finished we finished stuffing and stamping and addressing.  It felt like a never ending pile of invitations however they finally did end and we were happy with the results.  The invitations are super cute and really dear to us.

Today on our way to work we took the box full of them to the post office, and dropped them in.   After putting them in Shaila said 'Well no turning back now, we just invited a bunch of people to show up to an event, and we are supposed to be married by then.'  I love her.  It was so exciting to drop them in.

PS if the seals come off this is why!!!!!!

Engagements

Our final draft of the Engagement pictures are in. Here they are, I hope you all love them as much as we do!

If it's love and we decide that it's forever...

No one else could do it better

Love, that's enough for me!

And just be glad that we made it here alive!

you're the sun in my window warming my skin.

Thanks to Carolee Beckham for her work.  I originally wanted to just have a friend take the photos but after seeing the results I am 100% satisfied.  I am glad I made the decision to use a professional and Carolee is one of the best in my opinion.

Weekend Getaway

I know that I just barely posted the other day and maybe it's not "my turn", but I actually feel the need to post something today.
Despite my need for my own personal space, Adam and I generally spend every minute together when we're not at work. Even though I have every Monday off, I hadn't had a day alone for several weeks. I was craving a tiny bit of independence. I love Adam immensely, and he knows that, but my "me time" was something that he didn't quite understand. I told him that we both needed to spend a little time away from one another. He still didn't really see things from my perspective. So, I explained to him that although he is the most important person in my life, he isn't the only person in my life. I think that helped him to understand a little bit. But, this weekend proved my point.
After work on Friday, I was able to go up to Rexburg for a few days to spend time with family and friends. I got to see the new auditorium at BYUI and go through some of the remodeled buildings. It made me miss the school a lot. I really miss going to a university that is dedicated to the Lord and always overflowing with the Spirit. Being in Rexburg for a few days really made me want to return to BYUI. But, thankfully, I remembered that I was getting the better end of the deal. Instead of returning to school in Idaho, I get to marry my best friend.
I was only away from him for about two days, but during that time I remembered just how blessed I am to have him in my life. He has such strong faith. He spoils me completely rotten. I can laugh with him until my sides hurt. And he loves me no matter what, even at my craziest. I will always be happy by his side.

PS. Our photographer posted some of our engagement pictures on her blog!! Check 'em out!

Lately

So, it's been a little while, huh? Adam insisted that it was "my turn" to write a blog, so here I am. As an incentive to write something, he's rubbing my feet as we speak. Not that you needed to know that.. but now you know anyway.
Let's see.. what all has happened on the wedding front since we last talked? We've registered for gifts (in case anyone out there wants to show us a little lovin'), we found our wedding day attire, booked a videographer to film "our story" to show at the receptions, and the most exciting news-- we took engagement pictures today!! I can't wait to see the finished product! They are going to be phenomenal!
Now let me rewind for a moment. Let's talk about my wedding dress. It's gorgeous and perfect. Well, almost. Except for the fact that it's about a size and a half too small! It's a good thing that we've already been going to gym regularly. AND thank the glorious heavens above that Adam works for Tahitian Noni and we get to try an entire body composition program for free!!! Yipee! Hopefully this Fit program will actually work and help me look great in my fantastic dress.
Anyway, I think that is a sufficient update for now.
xoxo
